S.W & N.E Section at the foot of the Dame Blanche Menhir, Samarès
"A", is a depression in the clay 3' to 5' in diameter & 8" deep, filled with densely packed shells, (Patella athletica) & enclosed by small blocks of stone. It lies about 12' from the base of the Menhir.
"B". The setters-up of the Menhir made a pit here and lowered the stone into it. |
